STRAND RELEASING
A GAY LOVE STORY LIKE NO OTHER. Yossi, with his compact body, short hair and no-nonsense manner, is just what you’d expect from a young Israeli officer. Under his command is lanky, hang-loose, charismatic Jagger, played by Israel’s biggest heartthrob, soap opera star Yehuda Levi, who resembles a young Robert De Niro. YOSSI & JAGGER has been capturing Israeli audiences in droves. Its young cast personifies the intense combination of fear, joy, boredom and confusion that are the lot of soldiers everywhere. But added to the mix are the tensions of hiding a relationship that a macho military culture would abhor and the special poignancy of experiencing love in places where you would least expect it to bloom.
